We are expanding our operations in Ostrov nad Ohří in the Karlovy Vary region. We are to begin managing a new industrial complex with an area of nearly 57,000 m², part of Panattoni Park Ostrov North. It will house global technology company ZF, which supplies passenger and commercial vehicle systems and industrial technologies for the next generation of mobility. ZF’s new technology hub will also include a higher value-added shared services centre.
Our task will be to provide complete technical management of the building, including maintenance of the equipment and infrastructure. We will also monitor and further minimise the environmental impact of operations, which includes efficient waste management and energy saving efforts. We will also look at optimising operating costs and implementing modern technology solutions. Our work will also include ensuring a high standard of facility management and supporting the tenant in commencing its operations within the site. Last but not least, we will also focus on the preparation and management of OPEX/CAPEX budgets.
Panattoni Park Ostrov North is an example of the successful revitalisation of one of the largest brownfield sites in the Czech Republic. For more than 50 years, trolleybuses were manufactured here at the Škoda Ostrov plant. After 1989, production was gradually moved to Pilsen, the Ostrov site was closed in 2004 and fell into disrepair. Change finally came 20 years later.
During the remediation of the site, 12,700 tonnes of hazardous waste were environmentally disposed of. Afterwards, 98.7% of the original construction and demolition waste was recycled. 103,000 tonnes of recycled materials were used during construction, replacing primary natural materials. The new facility seeks to attain the BREEAM New Construction international sustainability certification at the “Excellent” level. The project’s developer was our sister company Panattoni CZ + SK. The property is part of the Accolade investment group portfolio.
