We are now managing the Amazon distribution centre in Kojetín for the second year. It represents the most modern logistics facility in the Czech Republic, characterised by a number of records and cutting-edge technologies. What specifically are we responsible for in Kojetín? We ensure that the building is always kept in an optimal technical condition and oversee its smooth operation. We also handle all the administrative work associated with its operation. We strive to achieve the most economical energy mix, with a high share of renewable energy sources. We manage the site’s biodiversity, where 300 trees have been planted and a flowery meadow has been established, home to several beehives and many small animals. We are implementing other sustainable features, such as the composting of organic kitchen waste.
The distribution centre in Kojetin has been awarded BREEAM certification at the “Outstanding” level. It is the first fully multi-storey industrial building in the Czech Republic. The total area of the site exceeds 187,000 m². Since it was built to a height of 27 m, the floor plan only covers around 51,000 m2. The three upper floors of the centre are equipped with robotic technologies that carry out the repetitive work related to the staging and retrieval of shipments. 4 MW photovoltaic panels were installed on the roof, providing more than 68% of the energy consumed on the site. The complex is kept warm by heat pumps.
We have a long-standing relationship with Amazon. We also manage their site in Dobrovíz, near Prague, plus the complex in Jirkov. Both properties were built by our sister company, Panattoni Czech Republic, and are owned by renowned real estate funds.
